Frequently asked questions.
What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care focuses on the diagnosis and conservative management of musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those related to the spine, joints (including extremities), and nervous system. Treatment often includes manual therapy (such as joint manipulation or mobilization), rehabilitative exercises, and lifestyle advice to help reduce pain and improve function.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No referral is necessary to see a chiropractor. Chiropractors are primary contact healthcare providers, so you can book an appointment directly. However, some insurance plans may require a referral, check with your provider for details.
Is treatment covered by insurance?
Many extended health insurance plans cover chiropractic care. We recommend checking with your provider for specific coverage details. Depending on your insurance provider, direct billing may be available at our clinic for your convenience. Most major insurance providers are available for direct billing.
How many visits will I need?
The number of visits depends on the nature and severity of your condition, your goals, and how you respond to treatment. Your chiropractor will regularly reassess your progress and adjust your plan as needed.
Do I need to get “adjusted”?
No. Chiropractic care includes a variety of treatment options beyond spinal adjustments, joint mobilizations, such as soft tissue therapy, rehabilitative exercises, acupuncture, kinesiotaping, and ergonomic advice. Your care plan will be tailored to your specific needs and preferences.
How do I prepare for my first appointment?
No special preparation is needed, but wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing is helpful for movement assessments and treatment. If you have any relevant medical records, imaging reports, or a list of current medications, please bring them. Please fill out the online intake forms, or arrive a 10-15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork.
